Participants enjoyed the spring sunshine Saturday at Chenoa’s Silliman Lake during a fishing tournament hosted by Outdoor Veterans.
The group has a mission to help veterans and first responders by offering a range of outdoor experiences. A team of volunteers leads the organization.
Scales were located on a boat so when a participant catches a fish, they can immediately weigh, catch and release. The event was open to the public with 10 slots designated for a veteran at no cost.
Matt Tribley is the event coordinator and Eric French assists. French brought in kayaks for the participants. The tournament was expected to end early on Saturday due to strong winds in the area.
