Obituary: Schopp

David Joseph Schopp, 77, of Normal formerly of Chenoa, died July 6, 2025 at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schopp was born December 4, 1947 in Fairbury a son to Donald and Marie (Fincham) Schopp.  His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include, daughter, Michelle (Robert) Parks, granddaughter, Payton Klun both of Embarrass, MN; three sisters, Donna (William) Hieronymus of Colfax; Peggy McPherren of Chenoa; Jane (Michael) Francour of Normal; one brother, Jim Schopp and David Hammers of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dave was a graduate of Chenoa High Schools and served our country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

A heartfelt thank you to cousin, Jan Crawford, whose kindness, support and presence brought comfort and strength to his final days. Your compassion meant the world, and our family will always be grateful for the love that you showed.
