The cause of a fire at a vacant residence northwest of Chenoa remains under investigation.
The structure was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scene late Sunday at 8687 East 1300 North Road located in the Chenoa Fire Protection District.
Pontiac’s Fire Department provided mutual aid and was assigned to determine the cause and origin of the fire. As of Monday, Lt. Jeremy Highland, the assigned investigator, reported the blaze was still under investigation.
Another fire occurred north of Chenoa near Ocoya June 22 when firefighters responded to a basement fire at 12378 East 1200 North Road. Very few details have been released on the fire and there is no visible damage to the house from the outside.
