Reinhart to step down; search for member underway

This week’s regular meeting of the Chenoa City Council was fairly routine other than the announced resignation of a council member.

Water and Sewer Commissioner Lee Reinhart announced he was stepping down effective at the end of January because he is moving out of the area.

Mayor Chris Wilder will appoint someone to replace Reinhart. An announcement could come in late February or early March.

“I want to get the right person for the job,” Wilder told Chenoa News.

Whoever gets appointed will only be in that seat for a year as Reinhart’s term expires in the spring of 2023.

Also at the Chenoa City Council meeting, the group approved the bills and discussed changing fines for illegal dumping at the City Dump.

“We are going to rewrite the ordinance for fines,” noted Mayor Wilder.
