Chenoa city leaders discussed an agreement with Farnsworth Group for the Parks Master Planning Project during Tuesday’s regular meeting at City Hall.
This is an engineering agreement for Redbird Park and Central Park.
“We have to do that in order to get our grant,” explained Chenoa Mayor David Shane.
The city council is expected to approve the agreement with Farnsworth at the next meeting.
In another matter, the council passed a Silliman Trust Funds agreement with C.A.R.E. Charities, a local non-profit organization, for a storage container.
Council members also discussed the need for a new pickup truck and someone from the crowd said there would be a state auction in Clinton later this month.
“We may look into something there,” said Shane.
Accounting was another topic of Tuesday’s meeting such as who gets charged for using the backhoe, skid loader, mowers and vac truck. According to Shane, they are going to move some of the accounting around so different departments are responsible for different equipment.
A day is planned in October to talk about employee handbook amendments.
During public comment, questions were raised by the audience about whether the city was prepared in the event of water main breaks.
Minutes of the regular Aug. 27 meeting were approved along with the executive session minutes from the same date. Bills were authorized as well.
