Obituary: Wahls

Sharon Lynn Wahls, 72, of Chenoa, died at 5:00 pm, Friday, June 13th, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service at 11 am, Monday, July 14th, 2025 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa; with Pastor Tim Huber officiating, Burial will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa.

Visitation will be 10 – 11 am on Monday, July 14, 2025 also at the funeral home in Chenoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Chenoa Fire Dept. or the charity of donor’s choice

Mrs. Wahls was born, November 30, 1952 in Hamilton, OH; a daughter to Thomas and Lois (Mills) Rinck.  She married Gregory E. Wahls on October 13, 2006 in Bloomington.  Her husband Greg survives in Chenoa. His parents preceded her in death.

Other survivors include one son, David (Elizabeth) Wahls of Matteson, IL; one daughter, Dana (Joe) Harner of Carbondale, IL; numerous cousins and her two K-9 Furr Babies, Lucy and Starr.

Sharon was an artist and enjoyed the many different forms of creating; painting, drawing, photography.  She enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Yellowstone National Park where she had a knack of seeing the numerous animals in their natural habitat.

She also enjoyed fishing with her family and friends; who will deeply miss her.
