Ronald W. Vining, 81 of Chenoa, passed away at 8:39 pm, Monday, December 12, 2022 at his residence in Chenoa.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a service at 7 pm, Monday, December 19, 2022, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.
Celebrating his life with the family will be from 5 to 7 pm, Monday, December 19, 2022, prior to the service also at the funeral home in Chenoa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Ronald W. Vining.
Mr. Vining was born October 31, 1941, in Wilmington; the son of Preston and Dorothy Mae (Wandless) Byford. He married Sharon Nelson on May 6, 1962 in Rantoul. His wife, Sharon, passed away on January 10, 2022. His parents, step-father, James Vining, and one daughter, Chris Bissey also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Thomas) Chourinard. of Kankakee; Cindy Goodlick of Florence, KY; Wayne Vining of Chenoa; two sisters, Sharon (Mark) Hill of Dwight; Adele Chaplin of Sandwich; one brother, Austin (Sue) Vining of Essex; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Ronald was a graduate of Reddick High-school and worked as an electrician for General Motors in LaGrange for over 35 years. In retirement he worked part-time for NAPA auto parts in Pontiac several years. He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, hunting, fishing or just being out in the yard. He also enjoyed helping friends in Clubb Racing at the Grundy County Speedway in Morris. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
