Obituary: Power



Thomas Leo Power, 90 passed away peacefully at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal on Thursday, May 9 under the care of OSF Home Care Services Hospice after a short illness during which his family were by his side.


A private memorial service and interment of his ashes will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Chenoa. 


Tom was born February 1, 1934 in Chenoa, IL to Charles and Ella (Camp) Power. He was preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 26 years; a brother, Jim Power; and a sister, Mary Jane (Power) Bauschelt. He is survived by ten nieces and nephews.


Tom was raised in Chenoa, attended Chenoa High School and enjoyed playing basketball for his beloved Chenoa Redbirds. Tom graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University. He served in the U.S. Army for two years in the Pacific Northwest and later relocated to the Denver, Co area where he established a successful real estate appraisal business until he retired to the Phoenix area where he met his future wife Patricia (Pat).

Tom and Pat enjoyed 29 years of love and laughter until she passed away in November 2023.
