Obituary: Leach



Dwayne Alan Leach, 58, of Chenoa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Chenoa. 


Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.


Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Gorrie officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life held following the funeral service at OB’s Cervezaria in Chenoa. 


Memorial donations can be made in Dwayne’s name to the Prairie Central Wrestling Program.


Dwayne was born on March 1st, 1966 in Bloomington, the son of William and Sharon (Brown) Leach – they survive in Wapella. He married Krista Stubblefield on May 1st, 1993 at Funks Grove Chapel in the Trees. She survives in Chenoa.


Dwayne is survived by his children Jennifer (Dan) Campos, of LeRoy, and Jeffrey Leach, of Normal. Also surviving are his siblings, Phillip (Melissa) Leach, of Arizona, and Shari (Mike) Marshall, of Wapella. 


He is preceded in death by his brothers Eric “Joe” Leach and William J. Leach.


Upon graduating high-school Dwayne enlisted in the United States military and spent three years serving in the Army as an MP. After returning from his military service, he enrolled at Illinois State University where he would go on to attain a Bachelors Degree in Accounting in the class of 1991; he passed the CPA exam on his first attempt. He began working at Union Roofing in 2002 and remained a loyal employee ever since. He loved attending his children’s sporting events, including coaching Jeff in wrestling. He was a man of few words, but those words were often sarcastic and amusing. Dwayne was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
