Rory A. Hammack Sr, 63, of Chenoa died at 6:18 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at his residence in Chenoa.
Rory was born September 5, 1959, in Normal, IL; the son of Robert and Patricia (Ellis) Hammack. He married Andrea Haynes on October 31, 1980 in Chenoa. His wife, Andrea survives in Chenoa. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Andrea Hammack of Chenoa; two sons, Rory (Ashley) Hammack Jr; Douglas (Crystal) Hammack of Streator; one daughter, Patricia (Tim) DeBock of Russellville, KY; step father, John (Mary) Rhodes of Pontiac; one brother, Reagon (Carol) Rhodes of Fairbury; two nephews, Jacob and Joshua Rhodes; uncle, David (Soula) Ellis of Chenoa; aunt, Betty (Bob) Hoerner of Pontiac; and eleven grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life service at 5 pm on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Chenoa United Methodist Church in Chenoa; with Pastor Debbie Honegger officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Visitation with the family will be 3 to 5 pm, also on Friday at the church in Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Bone Marrow and Cancer Foundation.
Rory enjoyed the simple things in life like watching a severe thunderstorm, a bonfire with his family and close friends, making memories along the way. He had a fascination with Eagles and collected them throughout his life. His large frame held a loving and giving spirit that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
