Martha Ann Donnell Ehrhardt of Birmingham passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 9th of December 2021. She was 89 years of age.
Mrs. Ehrhardt was born on August 24, 1932, in Pontiac, Illinois, and was the daughter of the late Percy H. Donnell and Beuna Hutson Donnell.
Mrs. Ehrhardt was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Poehler (Arden), and by her brother, John Donnell (Carol). A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church with the last twenty years at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, Mrs. Ehrhardt is survived by her husband of 67 years, Russ Ehrhardt; two sons, Mark Ehrhardt (Barb) and David Ehrhardt (Jan); daughter, Jane Ehrhardt; and by her sister, Barb Swanson (Bob).
She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Alex Ehrhardt, Lauren Ehrhardt, John Ehrhardt (Marie), Drew Ehrhardt (Dorie), and Paul Ehrhardt (Emily); and by her great grandson, Ethan Ehrhardt. She was additionally blessed with many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will commence at 11 am, Tuesday, the 14th of December at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 1400 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209. Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with her family one hour prior to the service.
There will be a family graveside service at 12 noon on Thursday, the 16th of December at Payne Cemetery in rural Chenoa Illinois. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of local arrangements.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials honoring the life of Martha Ehrhardt may be directed to the Preachers’ Aid Society and Benefit Fund located at Post Office Box 19207, Springfield, Illinois 62794.
