Notes from March 4-H meeting

The March Space Age Pioneers 4-H Club meeting was held at the Chenoa Methodist Church.

During the brief business meeting the club discussed the upcoming Chenoa Community Sale. We also went over upcoming fair activities. This meeting the club did multiple workshops involving project ideas for the fair. The club invited a former Space Age Pioneer, Sarah Micheals, to share about Gardening and Agriculture. She taught the members about mini greenhouses, germination, and local crops.

The Vice-President, Lucas Ellis shared about his Lawncare business, Lawncare by Lucas. He told the club about the tools he uses and how he uses them to clean up local lawns. Josh and Silas Jackson brought their bunnies to show everyone and they explained how they take care of them. They also let everyone feed them treats.

Heather from the McLean County Extension office came and did an activity with Ozobots. Ozobots are tinyrobots that are coded to follow a color pattern. The 4-Hers would draw   pattern with colors and then have the robots do something.

The last activity was an art project using old tiles, Sharpies, rubbing alcohol, and fire! The members would color on the tiles, and after using the alcohol and fire it would cause the colors to spread and make a tie dye pattern. The meeting was concluded with a group potluck.
