State Police have revealed the names of the two truck drivers involved in the crash at Routes 24 and 66 in Chenoa Tuesday.
Authorities say a 2017 Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer, driven by Jonas Bonney of Mount Sterling, was traveling west on U.S. 24 approaching the intersection while a 2019 Mack truck tractor semi-trailer, driven by Timothy R. Meyer of Ursa, Illinois, was traveling south on Route 66 approaching the same intersection.
Meyer’s truck reportedly continued through the intersection after coming to a complete stop at the stop sign while Bonney failed to stop at the sign causing both trucks to collide.
Bonney was cited by police for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and disobeying a stop sign.
