The Prairie Central High School Music Department presented the musical "Guys and Dolls" at the Prairie Central Primary West school in Chenoa over the weekend.
Shows were presented in the school's gym which was transformed into the Prairie Central Center for the Performing Arts on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon.
Set in a mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is considered a romantic comedy where Gambler Nathan Detroit tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck. Meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer Adelaide laments that they've been engaged for 14 years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the dough and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown as a result.
Irene Wilken played Sarah Brown while Christian Taylor was Sky Masterson. Justin Steffen played the role of Nathan Detroit. Other students involved in the production included: Tyson Ruiz, Grace Starks, Amanda Edelman, Lincoln Steidinger, Andy Krenz, Jeremiah Argueta, Hunter Houberg, Ashtin Elder, Elaina Stadel, Liz Duffy, Lexi Zimmerman, Emma Bachtold, Claire Dunahee, Sarah Waldbeser, Mya Lauth, Sam Vant and Eli Grabon.
