Chenoa to roll out the Red Carpet

While you are enjoying the Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival in towns up and down the “Mother Road” this weekend, be sure to check out all of the events in Chenoa.

Garage sales are being held around the community and be sure to visit the Goodin Texaco station, in the original gas station location. Weave around town and see the Matthew T. Scott house which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Chenoa Superior Shopping Event features vendors and enjoy the historic downtown architecture and stop by Chenoa Pharmacy with the original 1889 floors and cabinetry. A giveaway will happen uptown near the pharmacy.

Saturday is Red Rover Day at the Chenoa Dog Park, known as “Route 66 Fetch & Stretch” near the swimming pool at 205 North Morehead Street. Activities are planned from 10 to 3 with adoption, a kissing booth, special guest photos, cuddling, dog games, tattoos and paw stamps, a dog treat eating contest and costume/style event.

Stop by any of the 12 communities that make up the 90-mile linear museum from Joliet to Towanda on Saturday and Sunday during the Red Carpet festival. Everyone is invited to experience the good life in the slow lane.
