Chenoa has announced plans for marking Memorial Day this weekend.
Volunteers are welcome to visit Chenoa Cemetery at 8 a.m. this Saturday, May 24, to help setup flags. This year, they will be adding 50 more flags at the cemetery in honor of Francis (Bud) Vercler. The cemetery will be lighted from 8 p.m. to around 1 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday nights.
The VFW and Auxiliary will collect donations for the poppy drive Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Routes 66 and 24.
Monday’s Memorial Day service at Chenoa Cemetery starts at 11:30 a.m. and they are also accepting volunteers to help take down flags at 2 p.m. Monday.
