Supporters of the annual Chenoa Fourth of July celebration filled the banquet room of OB’s Cervezaria Saturday evening during a cash bash organized by the Fourth committee.
The $100 ticket admitted two to the event, which included a dinner featuring pulled pork donated by Blunier Farms along with sides and desserts from Butler’s Pantry and Crossroads Café.
There were cash prizes, 50/50 drawings and multiple raffles.
The three big cash bash winners of the evening included Terry and Kara Bohmer, Bobby and Patty Gillespie and Mark and Carol White. They chose to split the winnings three ways, meaning they all got $1750.
If they hadn’t chosen to split the money, the first place award was $4000, followed by $1000 for second and $250 for third place. Unofficially (since the drawing was held after the fact for fun) Terry and Kara received first place, followed by Bobby and Patty in second and Mark and Carol in third.
Mike Norris served as emcee for the evening with assistance from Route 24 Radio. Shelby Johnson was the bartender.
Next up for the Fourth of July committee is this Saturday’s Chenoa Community Sale uptown. The sale starts at 10 a.m. sharp with the donation lot auctioned first followed by animals. All of the donation item proceeds are directly absorbed by the committee. Buyers must register at Chenoa City Hall with registration beginning at 7 a.m. Sellers must register with the clerk on the street where items are deposited. Items are tagged with a lot number at this time. Tagging starts at 6 a.m.
