2020 pancake breakfast a hit

Sunday’s pancake and sausage breakfast to benefit the Chenoa 4th of July Committee exceeded expectations.

The carryout only event with no dine-in option saw items sell so quickly, the committee had to call people asking if they could use up pre-orders since they went through so much sausage.

“We had some people pre-order sausage and we were selling it by the pound or there was a five pound box you could get,” explained committee secretary Jessica Ifft. “It’s a really great thing to be running out.”

Last year wasn’t the best for the fundraiser since it fell on Thanksgiving weekend so organizers didn’t know what to expect this time around. The meal is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the committee in addition to the community sale which was not held due to COVID-19. This year’s July 3 street dance didn’t happen either.
